Dimensions of the original wine bottles

wine bottles
Did you know for a fact that wine bottles in addition to being named by volume also have their own names?
Also special is the size of the wine bottles named after biblical kings!

As with many parts of wine aesthetics, the nomenclature for wine bottles connects us to the structures of wine culture. Alcohol has long been a living part of our history as well as our daily lives. That is why the names of wines named after ancient heroes have great meaning, connecting us with history.

To be fair, we don’t know for sure how these conventions came to be or started. We can do some “research” and see if the answer can be found in the bottom of a six-liter (aka “imperial”) bottle. Surely there will be many interesting things revealed for you.
Below True Wine presents a list of wine bottle sizes and their names.
