The manufacturer is located 400km north of Santiago, in the Coquimbo area – Limari valley. This is a semi-dry area with little rainfall, lots of sunshine, and soil rich in minerals. The weather in this place is influenced by Pacific ocean breezes and cold dew at night. OchoTierras was established in 1993 in Limari Valley. With good quality grapes, OchoTierras decided to build a winery in the heart of the valley. Since then, the goal of the work has been to produce limited quantities of delicious wines.

The wine here also shows the special features of this land. The combination of climate and soil characteristics here provides the best energy to grow grapes. Besides, it also accumulates the essence of heaven and earth to create an extremely special wine.

Production process

The fresh grapes are harvested by hand by gardeners in May. Then it will be delivered to wineries in 15 kg barrels.

Before the fermentation process, a cooling period is carried out at a temperature of 9 to 10 degrees Celsius for two days. The fermentation process is developed at a temperature of 22 to 25 degrees Celsius. When the fermentation process is finished, the grape pomace is removed and pressed manually and with a system.

The wine is then brought to French oak barrels. The Ocho Tierras Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon wine is aged in barrels for a period of 12 months. The wine is gently filtered and bottled and numbered. The wine will be left in the bottle for about 6 months before being brought to the market.

Smell

The robustness of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Limari Valley will take the palate on a journey with flavors of ripe black fruits, black currants and raspberries, white pepper and chocolate cream. Long-lasting aroma, combined with rich and luxurious tannins, balanced acidity, and persistent aftertaste.
